Vanessa has over 20 years experience as both an HR professional and a business executive on leadership teams. She has also been a line manager responsible for leading change across a large team at the same time as maintaining and improving service delivery standards. This experience heavily influences the level of support and empathy she offers her clients and her unwavering belief that solutions need to be focused, pragmatic and commercial if they are to be relevant and successful.
Having learned her trade at Air New Zealand, including a period as HR Manager based in Los Angeles, Vanessa subsequently spent much of her career in short and long term contracting roles across industries as diverse as medical devices, manufacturing and distribution, transport and logistics, financial services, telecommunications, local government and not for profit. This valuable experience means she can “hit the ground running” and quickly add value for her clients.
Vanessa’s passion for improving business performance through efficient and effective HR strategies that add real value, combined with her ability to be supportive and challenging in equal measure, has enabled her to be a respected confidant amongst leaders, managers/supervisors and staff equally.
Vanessa is committed to helping others be the best they aspire to be and has invested in her own development throughout her career. She has a Diploma in Business from Auckland University of Technology and also completed the Strategic Human Resource Management programme at the Australian Graduate School of Management. She continues her personal development with short programmes, the most recent being Design Thinking – a human centered approach to solving complex organisational problems to create positive customer experiences
